Methven Castle Champagne Reception and Opera Evening

Methven Castle

Cosi, Fan & Tutte

Thanks to Sandra Ralston, @PerthFestival, who came up with the winning names for our three new geese. Cosi, Fan & Tutte.

To coincide with this, we had a marvellous evening on Wednesday 15th May when the University of the Highlands and Islands, Perth College Development Trust hosted a Champagne Reception and Opera Evening at Methven Castle
to raise funds for Perth College Alzheimer’s Research Project. Guests from all over Perthshire were welcomed by the Pipes and Drums of Glenalmond College playing on the front lawn.

Champagne and canapés, provided by the catering students from Perth College, were enjoyed before guests were entertained in the James IV Hall by members of English Touring Opera, @ETO. Special thanks are due to Jeremy Silver, Pianist, Paula Sides, Soprano and Cozmin Sime, Baritone.

Later, Vicki Graham gave an introduction to the heart moving film “Forget Me Not”, a poignant story of her husband Jamie, who suffers from Alzheimer’s.
Along with donations, a raffle and auction raised in excess of £8,000 for a cause that is very dear to our hearts. Thank you to everyone who made the evening such a wonderful success.
